Ocean Iron fertilization to increase phytoplanton blooms?


An oceanic phytoplankton bloom in the South Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Argentina. The aim of ocean iron fertilization in theory is to increase such blooms by adding some iron, which would then draw carbon from the atmosphere and fix it on the seabed.

I'm not sure about this being a good idea because we are already having the reverse situation in the arctic regions of Siberia where I know of at least one person walking over a natural gas vent who has died just by smoking a cigarette. Yes. It's true that
