Delivery drone?
I was thinking about delivery drones and I could see the first problem would be how much weight they could carry and what size and shape would be the payload they carried.
Next problem would be "Where?" they would be flown to deliver packages?
I could envision someone from DHL or Amazon.com or other company shipping specific things by small electric rechargable drones. For example, I could see them coming up out of the roof of a delivery vehicle. You might have an extra person attaching the payloads to the drones so maybe 5 or 10 would take off and deliver their loads in a several block area.
However, it would have to be delivered to places like Front porches of houses instead of apartments. Another problem would be power lines and phone lines and dogs and children and adults who might be injured by the propellers (even though most of the propellers are plastic). So, navigation and missing people and allowing for gusts of wind and animals and birds might be an issue for navigation of Small delivery drones.
These are some of the things people would have to think about and how to deal with all these potential liabilities including gusts of wind, rain, or snow, for example, that started up suddenly. So, when you combine sudden storm situations with people animals or birds this all becomes very problematic very fast.
So, parameters would have to be set up when you can fly and not fly and when you stop flying to keep packages, drones and people, birds and animals and power lines and phone lines and cable lines safe.
Later: As I read up on delivery drones more I found out that one place has tested 50 mile radius drones. This actually might make sense on ideal low wind days for deliveries more than sending trucks out with packages, people and launching from trucks in any one area. So, under ideal conditions you could have like 100 drones delivering packages and this might greatly reduce costs for delivery companies like DHL or UPS or Fedex or others.
Over time I could see how they might make drones that were safe even in 20 mph winds with rain or snow coming down also. Also, likely you might have self driving and self launching drones from those self driving delivery vans as well. However, it also might mean a lot of lost jobs for people too.
Because for men here on earth the number one job men have around the planet is driving cars, trucks and taxis. This accounts for more jobs for men than any other worldwide.
