Unfortunately, it looks like there will only be one season, even though I consider this to be one of the two best series so far this year. The other one being "Fargo".
Though this is a series that deserves to continue that might not happen "at least at this point".
Spoiler Alert: If you plan to watch this series or haven't seen episode 10 yet don't read the following:
When the early episodes start you see the Baron doing the Baroness doggy style then being very rude to her and calling her Barren (a play on words?)So, from the very beginning you sort of wish the Baron was dead which he obliges a few episodes later at the sword of "The Bastard Executioner" who is really a knight that the Baron thought was dead. So, the Executioner exacts revenge for his traitorous behavior toward him and the death of his wife.
Later you meet Annora, I believe she is called with her Knight Templar with the burned face. She is a Seraphim and holder of the original teachings of Jesus the Nazarene. However, people from the Catholic Church of the inquisition are trying to kill her and the other Seraphim who are descendants from Jesus. It turns out Jesus was a man not a God and she and her son "The Bastard Executioner" are his descendants which is why they are always having spiritual visions sort of like Jesus did of what is coming in the future.
By the end the Baroness and the Executioner get together to sire their son that they both saw coming to them both.
However, watching this series was pretty amazing (except for beheadings de nosings) etc. and general cutting off of heads and hands.
Except for the really gruesome stuff (which I usually dvred (fast forwarded) through rather than watch this was and is an amazing series to watch and likely a lot the way things were in Wales in the 1400s.
Also, here is the main site for "The Bastard Executioner". I used it to check the name of Annora
