Will Turkey and Russia go to war?

Not very likely, at least formally.

However, it might be important to note that informally through proxy wars, (Cold War Style), All Sunni nations are now at war with all Shiite nations. And the Shiite nations are allied with Russia.

So, it shouldn't really surprise anyone that a Russian bomber was shot down or that the pilots of that plane as well as the rescue helicopter plane might be dead.

To understand this better, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt etc. are Sunni ruled nations.

Shiite ruled nations are Iraq, Iran and Syria allied with Russia.

These two groups are at war with each other in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

As long as Sunni Muslims are being killed in Syria and Iraq this will go on (could be for 50 years or more now because of Russia stepping into Syria). Also, refugees will likely be going to Europe for at least this long too.

But, the Russian bomber being shot down demonstrates that in reality Turkey and Russia are actually at war even though it is only a proxy war for now.

Another factor to understand here. The Soviet Union went bankrupt partly because of Saudi Arabia lowering oil prices in the late 1980s. Now they are doing it again. This could now potentially eventually cause Russia to go bankrupt again. So, there is the potential for Russia to aid Iran in taking over Saudi Arabian oil fields through Yemen.

Basically, Russia would prefer all Sunni Muslims be dead because of the collapse of the Soviet Union and Chechnya.

This isn't going to happen because there are 1.2 billion Sunni Muslims on earth. Except for Russia's military strength and might, it would be more likely that the Sunnis could over time put Russia out of business.

I don't think Russia has realized this yet.

Putin thinks a lot more like the Russian Czars did and tends to be racist like people in the U.S. in the 1950s.

So, if you understand the 1950s mindset in the U.S. in the 1950s like I do from growing up then, you might understand where Putin is going with all this.

He thinks a lot like Stalin and
  1. Nikita Khrushchev - Wikipedia, the free...

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikita_Khrushchev
Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev [a] (April 15 [O.S. April 3] 1894 – September 11, 1971) was a Russian politician who led the Soviet Union during part of the Cold War.

However, I don't think he is as directed at ending the U.S. like Khrushchev was. However, apparently he is after ending Sunnis in the Middle East by his actions. The Sunni Muslims in the middle east know this by Putin's actions and will seek revenge over time. The downing of the Russian Bomber is likely only the first of many actions against the Russian military over the coming years.

We may be witnessing the beginning of the next world war at this point in the Middle East.
