Why is a program like "Finding Jesus" from CNN important

Because what Christianity has become for many people resembles "Santa Claus" more than Jesus.

If you say you are a Christian and are afraid of programs who study the history of the ACTUAL Jesus then how can you say you believe in more than just a myth?

Jesus was a real person like you and me. He was deified by the council of Nicaea

The First Council of Nicaea was the first ecumenical council of the Church. Most significantly, it resulted in the first uniform Christian doctrine, called the Nicene ...
  2. What occurred at the Council of Nicea? -...

Question: "What occurred at the Council of Nicea?" Answer: The Council of Nicea took place in AD 325 by order of the Roman Emperor Caesar Flavius Constantine.

When a bunch of leaders decide what Christianity should be for you today.

It wasn't Jesus deciding how he should be remembered but a bunch of people making money off of poor uneducated people then. So, even though people weren't put to death just for being Christians, they still were being put to death for not being "The right kind of Christians" that Emperors and Kings preferred.

So, if you weren't the right kind of Christian you were killed whatever time it was from Jesus' time on even if you weren't killed for just saying you were a Christian.

So, in honor of all those Christians who died for their beliefs it behooves all of us today to at least study who Jesus really was rather than believing in a Disney Cartoon of "Cinderella" as Jesus instead of the man  Jesus really was.

    Otherwise, are we adults?

Then after studying the man Jesus actually was if we want to deify him still then maybe it's okay because Jesus might respect us for that.
