Why is Russia such a God Fearing Nation

If your country had lived through the last 100 years in Russia, you'd probably believe in God too, because of all the death chaos and mayhem during the last 100 years if for no reason than that.

I directly tie believing in God in my life to Whooping cough, Childhood epilepsy and other near death experiences I didn't think I would survive at the time. So, from my point of view I would not have lived to reach age 15 without believing in God from zero to 12 and from 14 to 15 onwards. However, if I didn't believe in God I might have survived my 30s, but not my 20s or 40s. So, without believing in God when it mattered to my physical survival or psychological survival I would be dead many times over by now.

So, is believing in God important?

Yes. I wouldn't be alive now without it.

However, some people might have easier lives that they might survive without believing in God.

Everyone is different.

But, I have found that "There are no atheists in Foxholes".

However, I have been around hundreds of thousands of Tibetan Buddhists in Boghgaya, Dharmsala, Kathmandu etc. and they are wonderful people too without formally believing in God (at least as we do here in the U.S.). In fact, what I find funny now is that 25% of all Buddhists believe in God and that is also Acceptable to Tibetan Buddhists too because there are 49,000 correct paths to enlightenment with Christianity being many of these paths.

So, why is Russia such a God Fearing nation?

Because life has been very hard for so many Russians the last 100 years or so.

I would put it this way for myself and likely for Russians too. "Any port in a storm!"

When things are difficult and you are barely surviving you need to believe in something or you don't survive at all.

This has been true for hundreds of thousands of years if not millions already.
