"I AM" Adorations and Affirmations

I was raised from 1948 until 1969 when I was 21 in the Saint Germain Foundation or some call it the "I AM" activity. I have not been a member since then in 1969. However, this was the foundation of my religious training as a child and young adult. It is most similar in some ways to Christian Science and Religious Science in that it is based upon "Positive Thinking" and more ideas that we have seen here in the U.S. since Emerson and Thoreau in the early to mid 1800s through "transcendentalism" which is sort of a positive thinking and more "Mystical" and yet scientific approach to Christianity.

Since the 1960s and 1970s this has exploded in all sorts of directions worldwide through young people then and now and people are still exploring where this kind of thinking can lead even now.

"I AM" adorations and Affirmations was first published I believe in 1937. The Saint Germain Foundation was extremely popular in the late 1930s with about 1 million adherents worldwide with people like Mary Pickford ( a famous actress of the early 1900s) also a member in good standing.

This changed a lot when Mr. Ballard, the founder of this movement passed away suddenly in 1939.

The Adorations and Affirmations are very precious in some ways because they reflect his way of thinking that was so very popular in the late 1930s.

Here is one of the first "Prayers or ideas" listed in the book:

"The first duty of the outer self is to turn to the Mighty "I AM" Presence and to ask for orders".

In order to understand this it would have to be translated for most people.

The outer self would be who we are naturally or trained to be as human beings.

The "Mighty "I AM" Presence would be our God Selves or Souls who would have the wisdom necessary to teach us directly 24 hours a day to be more than we naturally are.

So, this was a way for people to turn to their individual God Selves for guidance 24 hours a day.

I'm sharing these things because I see how simple and yet powerful they are and were at the time given.
