Federal authorities are searching three states for more than 500 pounds
of explosives stolen from a train, according to reports Friday.
Sources told CBS News the CSX train was traveling from Chicago through
Ohio en route to Detroit when nearly 32 cases of the explosives went
missing. AFTER CSX TRAIN HAULING CRUDE OIL DERAILS IN WEST VIRGINIA, NEARLY A DOZEN TRAIN CARS EXPLODED ONE BY ONE
Technically, the explosives, which were lifted sometime Wednesday, are
classified as fireworks. But the explosives’ commercial grade, combined
with the quantity, makes them extremely dangerous, CBS reported.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is reportedly
leading the investigation with assistance from Detroit police.
