I was listening to two reporters and Wolf Blitzer discuss what Trump has said about himself in books and articles and I found it interesting.
One of Trump's statements is "Don't trust anyone."
Now, if you are president of the United States is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Likely it is a little of both.
However, if I look at myself what I realized early on by age 2 was that people didn't say what they really thought. It was more similar what my parents said and did in regard to me but not completely. I was telepathic always as a little child so I knew you really couldn't trust most people very much and some not at all. This made for a very frightening world without a lot of fantasy for me as a child, especially with whooping cough at 2 and childhood epilepsy at 10 to 15 when it left and never came back at all.
So, as a businessman I also understand what he means by "Don't trust anyone." Because if you do people will ruin you financially almost always.
And what I mean by this is they will ruin you unintentionally usually just out of ignorance by for example, giving away your business secrets that you need close to your chest in order to stay in business in the first place. So, they might ruin you completely unintentionally. Sort of "Loose lips sink ships". That was a bumper sticker during world war II for example.
The same is true with business.
So, you can love everyone and have compassion for them but that doesn't really mean you actually trust anyone. Love and trust are two different things. Love can be given freely like compassion but trust is always earned through knowing people many years and observing what they do in relation to your survival and the survival of your family and friends.
So, trusting people sight unseen is pretty stupid in the end. But, having compassion for all beings is always wise.
Why?
Because by helping people when it is safe to help them might make them your friend or future business associate. It will also tend to prevent violence between the two of you also.
So, compassion towards all people both friends and enemies is wise if it is safe enough to show compassion always.
But, Trust always has to be earned (unless you are a toddler and don't know any better yet) and haven't been physically, emotionally and psychologically scarred for the rest of your life yet.
(However, that is also how we learn enough to actually survive and travel the whole world and be relatively safe too).
