First Aid Kit - Universal Soldier (Buffy-Sainte Marie)

I believe I heard Buffy Sainte Marie sing this at a Love-In in 1969 in Griffith Park then. It still brings tears to my eyes hearing First AID kit sing it. It takes me back to other lifetimes when I was a soldier between the time of Christ and about 1000 AD. I'm grateful not to be there anymore. I gave up killing around 1000 AD and never have returned to being a soldier except in moments of self defense ever since.

My writings reflect this. Each person has to make their own decisions and live their own path. Generals and Kings are not responsible for wars, the line soldiers are. They just have to be grown up enough to realize this and to realize they are all captains of their own ships and masters of their own destiny. The line soldiers decide who lives and who dies in the end. It is their responsibility in the end what happens. Each of us creates the present and future.
