What do you Believe?

I just accidentally discovered that my God Daughter (who is an atheist and married to another atheist) gave a book to my 20 year old daughter a book called, "The Death of God: Towards a better understanding of a life without God aboard the ship of Fools" Which though I'm not happy about still I understand that everyone is going to believe whatever they believe in the end.

Though I also see a trend (especially in the western world) mostly caused by Terrorists who say they are Muslim of more and more young people thinking all religious people are as insane as the terrorists are. And this trend is moving from a trickle to a river to a torrent more each day as more and more people die by terrorists and terrorist soldiers worldwide. So, we likely are going to see more and more people become atheists.

However, that really doesn't solve the problem we are facing. In fact, in some ways it only increases the problems and the dangers to mankind. Both Red China and the Soviet Union were atheistic governments that killed people who professed any beliefs at all often. And look what happened there to the millions of people now dead from various purges especially the religious often consigned to work camps before they died in places like Siberia in the winter time.

So, not believing in God because of religious terrorists whether they be Mc Veigh who blew up hundreds in Oklahoma who was a Christian terrorist or whether it is   Isis in Syria or Iraq or whoever. Isn't as useful to the world as it initially sounds to become an atheist in reaction to all this.

Because in the 20th century atheists killed millions more people than Christians or Muslims did. This is something to think about too.

Whatever someone believes it comes from their life experiences combined with their conditioning. This is what really happens to people. So, what you believe is as much about your environment as it is about whatever health problems you are surviving during your life. It's all a composite which creates what you believe in any given moment.

I don't have problems communicating with people who don't believe in God or Buddha in some form. However, I do have problems with people who don't have a kindness based reality. There is a spiritual kindness that transcends religions and is more about the kindness between human beings all over the planet more than anything else.

So, this is what is important I believe. So, if people are kind to me then I will be kind to them in all ways I am capable of. And if they are not kind to me then they should expect whatever happens to them as a result. I would never physically harm anyone but I do believe in self defense if someone attacks me in any way. And this is all about belief as well.

So, What do you believe? And do you find what you believe useful to you?

In the end that is what is most important I think in the end.
