Medicine Path?

I realized I used the word "Medicine Path" to describe what I had experienced in the 1980s studying with several Medicine Men and Women. The two Medicine men I spent the most time with were trained Blackfoot Sioux tradition (for my vision quest) and Karuk for most of the sweat lodges I attended after 1983 in my life. 

 

For me. there were no substances herbal or otherwise that I ate to do any of this path. For other people they might choose other things in various different traditions on the Medicine Path. It is a general tradition that goes back thousands of years through various tribes. It is how tribes survived spiritually and physically for thousands of years to keep going through everything they experienced until the white men came here to the U.S.

 

The value for me personally is that this is a religion that sprang up out of the Earth organically here in the U.S. It did not come from another place or country but from right here where we all live. So, it is a way to bond with the  Earth Mother and return to the womb of earth mother to rebirth ourselves as needed on our journey through life.
