Compassion is not Sympathy

You might have sympathy for Hitler if you were in Germany in the 1930s for example, People were starving before Hitler and it took a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread. But, what he did to the Jewish and other peoples can only be described as evil.

Likewise what Erdogan is doing to Turkey is also Evil in that secular democracy is dying there. What he is bringing is incompatible with all Christians and Secular Christian nations on earth. What is now happening to Turkey can only be described as Evil as democracy dies there only to be replaced with a Sunni Islamic Caliphate with all secular democracy advocates in government or teaching or the military put in jail. Their likely ONLY crime was to not be an extremist Muslim in the end.

The end result of Erdogan will be a war with Iran. Erdogan is preparing for a war with Iran because Saudi Arabia is already at war with Iran through a proxy war in Yemen because Iran is giving weapons to the Houthis. This is causing many atrocities in Yemen but it is important to note this is primarily being caused by Iran funding Houthi Terrorism.

You might think Erdogan is saving his country Turkey from being taken over by Iran by creating Turkey into a Sunni Islamic Caliphate like ISIS was trying to Create in Raqqa and Mosul. I suppose this might be a matter of opinion.

However, to me, the death of the ONLY true large democracy in the Middle East Turkey is a really sad thing any way you look at it.

In it's own way it would be like India going from a democracy to either a Hindu fundamentalist dictatorship or an Islamic fundamentalist Dictatorship. To me, this is the same thing in it's own way.

A dictatorship is a response to real or imagined terror and fears. This is what happened in Germany in the 1930s.

Compassion is not sympathy with the devil.

In order to be compassionate in a right mindful way you have to be smart enough to know how to be compassionate where your compassion actually makes the world a better place.
