I was listening to President Obama talk about this recently. And one of his solutions to this in the U.S. was to tax companies laying off people and replacing them with computers and robotic equipment and to pay a minimum of 10,000 to 15,000 to each worker per year thus replaced during the next 25 to 50 years time. Because this is already beginning with self driving cars and trucks. Already in one Pennsylvania city Uber is replacing taxi drivers with self driving taxis already.
This brings up another concern of mine. I would prefer to never ride in a taxi that has no controls at all. I would want to have me or someone else sitting in front of at least a steering wheel and brake for emergencies that might arise. I think it is suicide to ride in any vehicle on the highway that doesn't at least have a steering wheel and brake for emergencies.
Part of the panic of Trump voters is issues like this one. However, if you actually study (not what Trump Says) but what he actually has done (Actions speak louder than words), he has harmed working people more than almost anyone I can presently think of that I know of at every point in underpaying his workers and putting contractors out of business and into bankruptcy especially in the 1990s when he lost over 900 million dollars one year which is why he paid no taxes for the next 20 years at all in income tax. If you lose this much money as a property owner who rents out space in those properties, sometimes you can write off this loss for up to 20 years or more by paying no income taxes at all which he has done since then and brags about doing this.
One of the biggest losses of jobs the next 20 to 25 years will be men losing jobs driving buses, driving taxis, driving limousines, driving trucks here in the U.S. and around the world. Though it might be more likely that robotic taxis can speak in almost any language you want to speak to them in, still this will disrupt more families than anything I can think of in the last 100 years or so worldwide including here in the U.S.
So, unless these people are compensated for their lifetime loss by governments and corporations I see riots and revolutions in the future around the world as millions (up to 1 billion people) lose their driving jobs worldwide during the next 50 years.
