Why is this?
Because people are often "murdered" by the truth. It is much easier to stay in a state where you accept all the comforting lies around you rather than to go for the truth. Because once you find the truth you are responsible for knowing about it have have the inherent obligation to share the truth with others if you are an adult and ethical and responsible. So, not only are you "Murdered" by the truth and then having to start your whole life over based upon the truth, you are also responsible as an adult to share this truth with others if you are an ethical and moral person. So, first you have to be brave enough to be "murdered" by the truth and then you have to be brave enough to give others the truth knowing fully that the truth will murder their reality too.
However, this is always how progress has been here on earth. It has never been easy to be a human being.
So, most people go with comfort which is religion which is always the opiate of the people rather than seeking truth fully and so they suffer the short and long term consequences of doing this worldwide.
This isn't just true of White Christian America it is also true of every single culture on earth.
And by the way this has nothing to do whether you believe in God or not. This is just about the truth of life.
To me, the truth is:
Time is not real
Space is not real
There is only one being in the whole universe
Therefore, if I lived 24 hours a day this, my physical body would die and I would have to live in a cave in the Himalayas and even then I could only live this 23 hours a day and the last hour I would have to go get nettles to eat and drink water from a stream and to leave my cave.
So, knowing the truth I also realize I live in a physical body here on earth and if I don't take care of my body it dies. Since God put me in this body I have an obligation to God to stay alive in this body and to help mankind any way I can for as long as I can.
