I loved this movie a lot. Of course I have been a Science Fiction fan back to when I was a child too and read all of Robert Heinlein's and Isaac Asimov's books before I was 15 or 16 years of age. 

Some people don't like the ending and so pan the movie because of this but I think that's silly. It is a really amazing movie both spectacular in vision and scope but also in the point that this kind of thing likely is in our future as well at some point. 

So, we are literally watching the future of some of the richer people or more fortunate engineers who might also be poor who will be allowed on these journeys in the future to other worlds beyond this one.
