Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)

They said this is adapted from Valerian and Laureline. If you are expecting Star Wars or Star Trek you will be soundly disappointed. But, if you are expecting "the 5th element" sort of reminding you a little bit of Guardians of the Galaxy with a variation of the Navi'i thrown in with a lot of kitch and amazing special effects you just might like this movie. It's definitely a different kind of movie but my wife and I loved it for what it was: entertaining with amazing special effects. Is it a kitchy love story? Yes. But it is also very entertaining as long as you aren't expecting Star Wars or Star Trek you are going to be just fine.
