high storm surges to affect Northern Florida Gulf coast from Hurrican Nate
Hurricane nate appears to be going to hit the northern Gulf Coast with over 9 feet of storm surge. Because of the fact that the highest land in Florida is only about 50 feet above sea level this sort of thing is only going to get worse and worse over the years because the water around Florida is so shallow that this creates higher storm surges than if the water was deeper closer to shore. This also might erode more quickly the state of Florida first into an Island or islands and then eventually by 2500 AD all of Florida likely will be underwater (except for maybe high rises and houses at the highest point on stilts.
