This is the kind of True Story American movie that wins awards. It is very well done. Be prepared for an adventure, be prepared to laugh and most of all be prepared to cry. I found it incredibly cathartic and emotionally cleansing. It is the story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots I believe of Prescott, Arizona (I have been here because a friend used to live there and her ex and child still live here). So, for me, this makes it all the more poignant. I have met people like this too. IN my 20s I had had heat prostration a couple of times and so I didn't try to be a fireman because of the Heat and smoke. However, my step son became a Fire Captain for Calfire or the California Department of Forestry which works on fires of the type you see in this movie. Also, two of my friends from Mt. Shasta were U.S. Forest Service Firefighters summers in the early to late 1970s. Two of them were working on a fire on a hillside when one of them yelled "Watch out Steve!" and Steve knew a boulder or tree was rolling down the hill towards him. So, he had a helmet on and put his hand on top of his head and hit the dirt. The boulder hit his hand and crushed it against his helmet and knocked him out and broke his hand. So, he had to spend a while in the hospital after that and couldn't work the rest of the fire season but his hospital stay was paid by the U.S. Government Insurance for Fire Fighters back then. His hand recovered after many broken bones in his right hand and it became as good as new once again. So, this kind of story is similar to the stories I heard from my friends in Mt. Shasta during the 1970s.
