This is what education is today.
He also compared education (I believe it was him because there were many talking about the problems of education in these videos) . College educations were compared to the Catholic Church in the 1500s where you went to college (became Catholic) so you wouldn't go to hell. But the problem becomes "The professors are the high Catholic Priests from the 1500s and everything is monolithic and education becomes rote and meaningless.
Elon Musk said, "You don't really need to have a college education if you are going to become an entrepreneur. Bill Gates, Stephen Jobs and others were successful without a college education. They were both College Dropouts who realized they already knew what to do without College so they just went out and did it.
Another thing Musk said was that students need to be told why they are doing something.
He said it is much more useful for example, to learn why tools are important if you are taking apart an engine and putting it together and then putting it in a car and then driving that car around the country or world. Otherwise if you were just learning about tools without putting all the pieces together it wouldn't make much sense at all to a student.
So, students at all levels need to be told WHY? they are learning things like mathematics etc. or else they don't want to learn about these things.
In the end curiosity and wanting to learn and reaching out to something like Khan academy worldwide might be more useful than going to college and cost 100,000 dollars less too.
