reprint of Fire map of Thomas Fire moving through Santa Barbara Area now

I realized it was getting harder for me to find the fire map too to see what portions of Santa Barbara were still okay. The firefighters have been able to keep it mostly in the mountains away from homes although homes higher up on mountain slopes have burned some too. So, the coastal range in back of Santa Barbara to the East are burning mostly. They are still building backfires when the winds are low enough to burn away areas closer to homes before the winds take those areas out of control during other times. So far, this way they have kept the fires out of the main parts of Santa Barbara in this way. But, this map is pretty impressive in the update they did the other day as it burns from right to left along this map route. A few days ago the border of the fire was about where Birnum Wood Golf Club is and now it is all the way over towards Parma Park.

If you looked at the fire map I first shared yesterday, you can see how the fire has moved along the mountain range form right to left above Montecito. At the present rate it might burn right across the mountains next to Santa Barbara Proper. Montecito it could be said is a suburb of Santa Barbara. They also said that they are building backfires to burn away in a controlled way areas near homes to try to prevent uncontrolled fires taking down homes.

 These controlled fires are up high in the mountains right above the highest homes on the hills as you can see on the map.
