Here's my favorite quote. "Elon Musk explains why school is useless" which is my belief too. I survived Public school even though I loved to learn. But, most of my life I had to learn on my own, very little actual learning was in school. My father was valedictorian of his senior class in High School in Lake Forest park in the 1930s. He taught me to debate on literally any subject. Whatever position I took, he often would take the opposite position and he would demand that I think carefully defending my position. This has stood me in good stead from the time I was 8 years old. 

I believe also school is useless. Why?

Because it is better to set a child loose learning what they want to learn about (unless you are training someone for the military or for the factory. But, inventiveness and creativity go to the max if a child is completely set loose to learn whatever they want to like I do every day now in my life in relation to by blog. Literally anything I blog about I'm interested in in some way.

What I am is a synthecist, I take information from all directions, sources and scientists and make it more understandable for everyone by having studied in so many different directions in my life.

There is literally no limit to what you can understand or learn if you are given the freedom to just understand all that you can understand on any given subject or subjects. For example, I didn't know my son was dyslexic when he was little and he basically taught himself to read just reading Dungeons and Dragons books. He would walk up to me and say, "What does that say?" and I would tell him whenever he asked and this is partly how he learned to read because he was interested enough in learning about Dungeons and dragons books and what everything was. Later I learned as an adult he had a 140 IQ which is way beyond most people in muti-dimensional understanding.

So, what should children learn about? Whatever they want to on any given day. As long as learning is fun they will study things the rest of their lives non-stop because it is fun and productive for them in every way.

MY three oldest children now 43, 44 and 46 were home schooled using Oak Meadow School from 1980 to 1985 in Mt. Shasta at that time until the oldest was 12. My next oldest daughter is 28 now and most of her growing up years were home schooling too. Until High school and college.
