NYT: Trump's lawyer paid $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels out of his own pocket
President
Trump's longtime personal lawyer paid $130,000 to a porn star over an
alleged affair she had with Trump in 2006, the New York Times
reported.
The
Times' Maggie Haberman, who reported the story, told CNN's Anderson
Cooper that Michael Cohen claimed he paid porn star Stormy Daniels with
money out of his own pocket.
"It was money out of his own pocket —
that it was not money from the campaign or money that was routed to him
through some other fashion," she said.
He made a similar statement to the Federal Election Commission after the group Common Cause
filed a complaint about the "nature of the payment," Haberman said.
