There are basically two types of compassion:
The first type would be idiot compassion.
"You want to help someone but you are not very intelligent about it and because of this either the person you are helping or you often die because of your lack of efficiency and intelligence.
The 2nd kind of compassion is:
Right mindful pragmatic compassion.
Here you look at the needs of the person or people you want to help. You also assess what is safe for you to do for the person or people or even animals you want to help. You then correctly assess what you can safely do for the betterment of these people or animals without causing harm to yourself or anyone else in the most efficient and yet compassionate way possible.
