If it is possible to turn CO2 into Oxygen or O2 with a laser it might take a lot of solar energy on Mars to begin to separate the O2 there into Oxygen or O2.

So, you would need a lot of energy to do this on Mars. However, maybe it would be possible if there is magma on Mars underground by getting power from Geothermal to power lasers to turn CO2 to O2?

Once you have O2 in addition to be able to breathe the air there more it would also make more water  possible too on Mars?
