If you have never heard of Idyllwild, California

Next to San Jacinto Mountain is Palm Springs. Idyllwild is on San Jacinto Mountain up a different road than the Palm Springs Tram Road. From Interstate 10 and Banning you take highway 273 to Idyllwild there in the mountains as well. You can also take highway 74 from Hemet  or Thomas Mountain as well to get to 273 in the mountains there.

I haven't been to Idyllwild much since I climbed Tahquitz Rock learning Rock climbing on the route White Maiden's Walkway in the late 1969 and 1970 when I started rock climbing a lot there and Yosemite with a friend. He learned that he needed to lead the routes because he is 5 foot 10 and I'm 6 foot 5 and he couldn't follow my routes because my arms and legs are longer. So, the tallest person in a rock climb shouldn't lead the climb because anyone shorter cannot follow his or her moves.
