This is interesting because the further to the right you might be the more likely you would be involved in the UFO coverup. Why? Because Higher ups in the military (officers and above) are almost all very conservative Republicans like Senator Strom Thurmond was. The coverup happened because of the mess everyone was after World War II and the Great Depression. It was thought people so messed up by war and the Great Depression could never deal with real UFOs. This was the thought by Truman at the time. And once this decision was made it couldn't easily be changed once they started killing and imprisoning people to shut them up worldwide in the early 1950s.
