It would mean that at 3% of the population of earth it would mean the earth's total population in 2018 was:

7.594 billion (2018) and 3% of the total population of earth now is:
227,820,000 dead if coronavirus is equal to 1918 Spanish Flu.

If it took out 5% of the world's population it would be 
now:379,700,000 people. Hopefully the coronavirus will
not equal the Spanish flu because more people will
die of it than died in World War II on all sides at either
