Some of the basic ways of perceiving reality

A Western materialist would say:

"If I can't see it with my eyes or touch it with my hands then it isn't real."

An ancient Australian aboriginal Medicine man or woman would say:

"Only what you dream at night is real. What isn't ultimately real is what you experience while you are awake".

A Tibetan Buddhist would say:

"Both what you experience waking and sleeping is equally real and unreal."

But why would a Tibetan Buddhist Lama tell you this?

Because Time and space is not ultimately real but only at most a temporary occurrence, so this makes both your waking and your sleeping states both real and unreal because they are so transitory.

Then what is real?

From my point of view the only thing real is Being because time and space are not ultimately real.

I learned this from soul traveling the Galaxy and seeing our Galaxy sort of like a waterfall in space which is transitory. I traveled out beyond the galaxy also and was terrified to realize at the time in my 20s that the Galaxy is also alive and humans are only one of the many organisms that is a part of the living organism of the galaxy.

But, in the end, a galaxy is a living organism and as humans we are a part of the living organism of the galaxy and both individual humans and the galaxy are temporary and transitory.

So, what is permanent?

Only Being as a soul is permanent but not time and space or individual human bodies or a galaxy.

So, in understanding all this we are individually and collectively at peace in eternal being of our existence as a soul beyond time and space.

And this is why everything is equally real and unreal because time and space and a galaxy are not ultimately real in any sense because they are not permanent like our souls are.
