Airline traffic: only 30% of what it was a year ago: worldwide

"Services have been clobbered," Behravesh said. "Airline traffic: only 30% of what it was a year ago. Hotels: high vacancy rates. Convention centers: empty. Stadiums: empty. These are all bad news for the economy."

A 70% drop in air travel worldwide is nothing to scoff at and shows the real change in how things are faring worldwide.

It's true many business people can get their jobs done through Zoom instead of flying to meetings around the world. However, it also means that resorts and hotels around the world are probably 70% empty too. And being 70% empty unless a hotel is long paid for means changes of ownership at the very least for those hotels worldwide and other resort services likely temporarily or permanently ending worldwide.
