I woke up and took a picture of the red sunrise and then went back to sleep for a few more hours this Christmas morning. Then the family got up and had a Christmas Brunch. By then it had rained and mostly dried up outside. The biggest rainstorm people are worried about I think comes around Sunday. The Fires last summer mostly throughout California are making people very scared what the rains will do to various parts of California. People remember the 23 people that died in an unexpected mud and rock slide in Montecito which is a rich area and a suburb of Santa Barbara where people like Jeff Bridges and many other big stars live. He and his wife were rescued by helicopter because all roads to there were impassable for several weeks when this happened because of Semi truck sized boulders and mud blocking all the paved roads in and out of that area from all directions.
The biggest problems come where we have fires in December or January which is what happened in In believe 2018 in January in Montecito. People all over California are now scared if they are altitude wise beneath the altitude of a large burn area. So, even if they didn't get burned out their homes could be covered by mud and rocks if the rain comes down too hard this rainy season so unless you evacuate before something like this happens you might not survive it. 23 people died in the middle of the night in Montecito January 2018.
