If you have ever been around domesticated wolves they are not entirely domesticated. You are their friend but it's more like a human is the pet of a wolf more than anything else.
You can condition a wolf to be nice to other dogs but even then I remember approaching a wolf sitting in a friend's seat in his car and he gave me a look which was basically: "I could eat you for breakfast if I wanted to." And I understood that. So, basically you have to know what you are dealing with even if you are around a domesticated wolf.
They are much more intelligent in a completely wild way than domesticated dogs. They can run backwards as well as forwards. They do this so someone cannot bite their hindquarters. Also, wolves never bark like dogs so you are never going to hear them coming. They are very self directed which means they are not subservient to men. And though they will play with dogs they are usually much bigger and stronger and wilder than any dog they play with.
I remember being at a Starbucks when a lady brought her wolf and my wife started talking to her. She said she brought him here so he could remember what it was like to be around people. She said it was important to keep him used to being around people so he didn't revert to the wild. She gave him a command and he jumped on top of one of the outdoor tables. I was pretty impressed at how amazingly agile this wolf was that he could do this without even thinking about it.
Just remember if you are around a wolf that he or she isn't going to bark at you but you need to be very careful because they are wild even if they are domesticated. Even if they are domesticated they still function according to wild rules overlaid with the kindness of their "Master?" or Friend?
