So far, more than 132 million Americans -- nearly 40% of the population -- have gotten at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and more than 85 million -- roughly 25.7% of the population -- are fully vaccinated, according to CDC data.

I was pleased recently to discover that among people who are tested we are ONLY losing around 1.7% of the population that are testing positive to coronavirus. A year ago this was around 2.5% that were dying. So, there has been a lot of progress (at least here in the U.S.) regarding (at least those who have health insurance and who also get tested). The sobering thought for me is that when you add in the number of people who never get tested and who don't have health insurance or who are afraid or can't get to a doctor the death rate would be about 8 times this much here in the U.S. regarding actual deaths.
