Home schooling is an alternative to the mess education is presently in the U.S.: Oak Meadow independent study is a good alternative

Of course it is all due to families not wanting to be killed by Covid, especially older parents from their mid 30s to 70s.

However, zoom classes have put many children and young adults in tears day after day of the problems that come from:

Not being able to ask questions easily over Zoom.

Internet problems like not having a receiver like an Ipad or Laptop or other computer.

Teachers not famliar enough with the technology of Zoom etc.

Children confused and not able to ask questions enough to even understand what the teacher is talking about in the first place.

So, one way to over come these kinds of problems is to have a member of your family teach your children and a way that my family found that works.

From the Fall of 1980 through 1985 my wife and I home schooled on independent study through Oak Meadow school which helped our family be able to live remotely 10 miles from the nearest Gas Station up in the mt. Shasta area on 2 1/2 acres of land we bought with an amazing view of Mt. Shasta with a Spring for water at around 4000 feet altitude in the forest there on the side of Mt. Shasta. I think doing this was likely one of the most healing things I have ever done in my whole life outside of retiring. And it made all our older children self starters which has helped them throughout their lives.
