What does Democracy in Peril mean?

 It means that many White people in Red States only want White Men to be able to vote and that's all.

This is why Democracy is in peril. Georgia and other states have already tried to accomplish this with relative success. Now Texas is being even more extreme.

The consequence of this could be a 2nd Civil War with Red States seceding from the Union like before during the last Civil War from 1860 until 1865.

When Trump was still in power I believed it was also possible that Blue States would secede from the Union like New York State and California, Oregon and Washington.

However, now it is states like Texas and Georgia and others instead that might secede from the Union now that Biden is in office (or they might just put voting laws in place that prevent all blacks and minorities (other than white males) to vote like they are trying to do now.

By the way in the beginning of our Democracy that is how it all started out with only White Male Landowners being able to vote then in the late 1700s.

However, over time slowly but slowly women and minorities slowly have gotten the right to vote. Now, Trump Republicans want to stop all women and minorities being able to vote at all in some states.

This is why Democracy is in peril right now!
