The power of the X Class solar flare was same as millions of 100-megaton hydrogen bombs!

So, if this gigantic "millions of 100-megaton hydrogen bombs was aimed at earth likely all passenger planes on that side of the planet would have crashed.

Why?

Because you have electronics relaying surface control information to electric motors on wings and tail control surfaces. If they get fried by a Solar flare they don't work anymore. So, all planes large enough to have this problem would crash in an X-Class Solar flare if they were on the side of the planet getting hit by the flare.

However, the probability of this happening on any one X class solar flare is low simply because you have 360 degrees and then at least another 360 degrees because the sun is a sphere. So, you have a one in 720 chance of this happening each time there is an

 X-Class Solar Flare.

So, according to the laws of probability this eventually should happen within the next 500 years where everything electronic on that side of the planet will get fried and all laptop and cell phones will stop working permanently until they are replaced from the other side of the planet that might not have been hit.
