Covid had torn us apart regarding wearing masks and getting vaccinations. Afghanistan withdrawal though an important idea has turned into it's own kind of disaster which likely was inevitable much like the Viet Nam withdrawal from Saigon in the 1970s. So, many people might die there too. Hopefully, the Taliban will keep more people alive and kill less of the people that helped the Nato Allies in this. Hopefully, the will let people leave the country by land from nations not Afghanistan and also people who want to leave who are too westernized to survive under the Taliban.
But, it is my hope most of all that Americans will now pull together to help those that will be suffering or are suffering now unimaginable distress and possibly death too in this the biggest storm to hit Louisiana since maybe the 1850s. We need to pull together as a country to keep our country alive and vibrant somehow.
World War II pulled us together because of Pearl Harbor. Hopefully Hurricane Ida will help our country mend it's wounds and pull together now too for the sake of everyone and the U.S. and the world.
