This is equal to or the worst storm ever to hit Louisiana since the 1850s. It stayed a Category 4 storm hours much to the surprise of most people with sustained winds of 140 to 150 mph and gusts up to 185 miles per hour. Because of it staying over southern Louisiana so long the flooding likely will be much worse than most people expected and the wind damage will also be much worse than most people expected as well. This storm might top Laura which caused 17.5 Billion dollars in Damage. So, this one could go to at least 20 billion or more in damage to Louisiana and nearby states from what everyone is seeing happen right now. But, like they all are saying: "The worst is yet to come from the 20 to 30 inches of rain coming on top of everything that has fallen so far in Lousiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
Also, as I'm writing this the Mississippi River has reversed it's course and stayed reversed until now as of about 4:30 pm PDT in California on Sunday April 29th 2021.
