Because I have counseling experience this is what I would have said to her too

A National Park Service ranger who also responded to the call spent about 90 minutes with Petito and warned her that her relationship with Laundrie had markings of a "toxic" one, the ranger told the Deseret News of Utah.
"I was imploring with her to reevaluate the relationship, asking her if she was happy in the relationship with him, and basically saying this was an opportunity for her to find another path, to make a change in her life," ranger Melissa Hulls told the Deseret News.

CNN has sought comment from Hulls.

The problem was not that they didn't love each other. The problem was that this was a "fatal match" from the beginning likely.

There was some issue or issues that the totally couldn't agree on and likely Laundrie was obsessed with her and she had to be also obsessed with him too or it wouldn't have gone this far.

If either of them were fully individuated, one of them could have said, "This is dangerous! I'm walking away."

    But somehow that never happened.

But, unless you have studied enough psychology to understand some of these things or had bad experiences yourself in relationships at 22 or 23 you might not know that where you are headed is potentially fatal like it was for these two.

However, I'm thinking he is already dead or soon will be because they appear to be mutually obsessed with each other in a way where if one dies likely the other would too very soon.

They don't appear to be able to live without each other and this already killed her and likely has or will soon kill him too.
