I was trying to separate the words in meaning of Marauder from Ravagers

ma·raud·er
/məˈrôdər/
Learn to pronounce
noun
  1. a person who marauds; a raider.
"a band of English marauders were surprised and overcome"
    Similar:
    raider
    plunderer
    pillager
    looter

    pirate
    freebooter
    buccaneer
    corsair
    rover
    bandit
    brigand
    rustler
    highwayman
    ravager
    cateran
    mosstrooper
    reaver
    snaphance
Verb. ravage, devastate, waste, sack, pillage, despoil mean to lay waste by plundering or destroying. ravage implies violent often cumulative depredation and destruction. a hurricane ravaged the coast devastate implies the complete ruin and desolation of a wide area.

Definition of "Ravage" - Merriam-Webster

After using the term Marauder and reading what Ravager means I believe a raider of planets most accurately describes the Space Marauders of "The Alien War"
However, they are much more sophisticated than historical ravagers or Marauders so I would have to say they are more like
Corporate Raiders in some ways than anything else because of their sophistication in raiding from planet to planet.
