I drove north today back to my home in the SF Bay Area from Santa Barbara. The weather was pretty good and it even rained for about a day in Santa Barbara last Monday a week ago (pretty much the whole state got hosed by the Atmospheric River on Monday that hadn't already been hosed which helped a lot of plants and trees and reservoirs. Some reservoirs got up to 20 feet in new water statewide.
Driving north the high Temperatures were only around 75 degrees today even in places like Paso Robles and Buellton that both tend to be pretty warm (compared to the coast) year around in the day time at least.
But, I'm not sure but Friday's 83 was likely the highest temperature this for anywhere South of San Francisco to Santa Barbara on last Friday in Paso Robles. So, at least for now temperatures are dropping because it's supposed to rain on Monday and Thursday at least in the SF Bay area.
Most of the way north it was sunny except for fog in some stretches like Pismo Beach and driving up on Salinas it was foggy from the coast too.
But the nice 70 to 75 Temperatures were nice too this late in the year on 101 inland.
When the Atmospheric River hit last Monday it went as far south as San Diego and then it just kept going across Mexico to Texas and the river went all the way up to Canada as it moved East from Texas last week. Then I believe it kept moving further and further East from Texas while mostly heading north as far as Canada.
As you can see it's supposed to rain on Monday and Thursday again in the Bay Area which is good because now we need all the rain we can get after the last 20 plus years of drought.
