So, you want to go electric before 2024 because California is outlawing small gasoline engines by then?
Newsom decided that we needed to lead the world in changing how we put CO2 and Methane into the air by outlawing small gasoline engines like the kind we mow lawns, run mini-bikes and the like from that are usually under 3 horsepower. I'm not entirely sure where the cutoff is in motorcycles for example.
So, if you are already trying to convert to electric away from gas there are some helpful hints you might want to know about.
Note: By the way some things don't really work well (at least for now doing them electrical) for example, weed eaters that are not gasoline tend to burn out very quickly when they are run by electrical cord. Could this change? Possibly. However, then there are leaf blowers that work just fine with large vacuum cleaner motors as long as you have one of those big orange outdoor 100 foot cords from an outlet in your garage or deck somewhere outside.
That's the other thing. You need a 1 100 foot orange electrical cord and here's the harder part (with a reel to reel it up so it doesn't get tangled in a knot or something. The upper left one is the kind I prefer to use and I have two of these (one for my 100 foot orange cord and one for my 50ft. orange cord when I need to go further than 100 feet and do something with a blower or a pole electric saw.
another thing is that you want to plug the cord into itself when you are not using it. This is called by electricians
Also, when you reel up your cord you want to plug it into itself. This is called "Continuity" which keeps the copper in. the cord from decomposing and keeps it in one piece. You see, there is electricity everywhere and when you coil a cord up it in some ways emulates and electric motor so you want to plug it into itself so the copper wire doesn't deteriorate inside the cord.
You might ask what a pole electric saw is? Well here it is so you don't have to climb a ladder to trim limbs on trees and bushes

So, I was just talking to someone who also said the new 18 volt batteries you can
get for electric chain saws and other things are pretty good too. He Said Makita and
several brand names make these really great rechargeable batteries for power tools of
all kinds. So, if you want to convert early and avoid the rush this is one way to go.
I Converted over to an Echo 2 cycle gasoline powered weed whacker about 5 years ago now after burning up likely 5 or 10 electric weed whackers that didn't last very long.
However, if everyone in California has to convert to electric then things might change and better weed whackers might get built that are still good and electrical either by cord or by battery one or both.
