The problem with new variants like the South African one:

is that eventually these multiple mutation variants come here (one way or another) to the U.S. and Europe and around the world just like the Delta Variants have cut through this nation too now. Can you imagine the millions and millions that would have died already if we hadn't started vaccinations last Spring from Delta Variants?

So, as long as people aren't fully vaccinated worldwide more and more there will be variants that will come because of the spread of Covid through variations. and one of these variations could eventually extinct the human race when vaccinations cannot be created fast enough to fight those variants around the world.

So, we are looking at worse and worse variants that now could arise from people not getting vaccinated.

However, there might be another way to look at it which is that as less and less people are NOT vaccinated this also could make variants arise faster too.

So, it depends upon how you look at it.

But, without some hopeful thoughts many would not be able to continue living if they realized it might be the end of the human race this century.

So, being hopeful of having a future prevent people from directly or indirectly offing themselves.

So, being realistic but also having some hope of a future are both important to keep going.
