Because the present 2nd variant of Omicron is 6 times more contagious than the Delta Variants. What China is doing won't work anymore. And because the Chinese have no antibodies to Covid because exactly because of their Zero Covid policies, it appears that China is now doomed like the rest of the world to suffer the fate of the rest of the world this time. It's horrifically awful what likely is going to happen now to China to their people.
Also, Sinovac is NOT an MRNA vaccine and is ineffective against Omicron almost completely.
This is the reality that both China and the world will have to face, because Variants now could arise out of China because of this. It's not just horrific for China but also for the variants that could come from China to the rest of the world because China has no herd immunity like most of the rest of the world has to one degree or another to the covid Variants.
