In the last article they now refer to AMDO as Qamdo. It's sort of like Kiev is now Kyiv and Munich when I actually went there is pronounced Muncheon not Munich. So, over time western countries decide to be maybe more accurate in their pronunciations. For example, when I grew up it was pronounced Peking as in Peking Duck and now it's called Beijing. I'm not sure because of various dialects which is actually more accurate because you can only be accurate in one dialect. The same is true of Tibetan also.
I also discovered all these links to other good articles if you are interested in studying more about Tibetan Culture and ideas and dress etc.
