How did we get from Globalization to Fragmentation regarding trade internationally

I think you have to start with overpopulation combined with Global Climate change (with overpopulation as the main cause for global Climate changes) to make some sense of all this.

Then you have (caused by overpopulation which caused global climate changes) Covid and other pandemics, which are caused by some or all species slowly going extinct. For example, when bird flu hits some areas now (because certain bird species have gone extinct in some areas (but likely not all) the birds left in that area might carry bird flu or other flus or pandemics. As more species of plants and animals go extinct this century we can expect because of these extinctions many many more pandemics or plagues of various kinds because the balance of nature that existed before is gone.

So, we have in some ways a scenario that reminds me a little of the dinosaurs going extinct which totally changed the ecology of earth.

So, the ecology of earth is in transition to something new and we might be able to predict the weather a day or two before it happens but we likely cannot predict which pandemics will occur because of specific species extinction in various areas of the world.

For example, we might be able to predict now that the next two years will be the worst famine worldwide since World War I partly because 30% of the grains won't get to market (from Ukraine and Russia) but we likely cannot predict which pandemics might occur in which areas of the world just like we cannot predict what will be caused by millions of Chinese people dying of Omicron or being locked into their homes all over China caused by 75% o the cities in China being completely locked down for Omicron with no one able to go to work or earn a living in 75% of the cities in China.

So, basically, the unraveling of supply chains worldwide began with overpopulation worldwide combined with specific bird and other species extinction in some areas of the world. IT is expected that 1 out of eery 3 species of plants and animals will go extinct here on earth by 2070. 

What will this do to human beings capacity to survive all these extinctions? This is unknown.
