It's presently 82 degrees in Santa Barbara and inland in Paso Robles it is presently 85 so there isn't a lot of temperature difference between the coast and inland at this point. For example, even Death Valley one of the hottest places on earth is only 97 degrees Fahrenheit right now at about 2:45 PM PT. So, this is quite different from 122 and 124 Degrees a few weeks ago. So, it is likely temperatures might be on their way back down around California coming into Fall weather which can be warm during the day but also colder at night. Here in Santa Barbara the 58 and 59 degree night time lows are a way to cool down houses and bedrooms by leaving windows open more to let the cool night air in. We because we are older set our air conditioner in Santa Barbara at around 73 degrees and that works for us. But, further north on the coast where we ordinarily live at the ocean we don't even have an air conditioner simply because temperatures above 80 degrees any time of year are very very rare. So, 99% of the time we don't even need an Air Condtitioner and Global Climate change hasn't forced our hand yet to get a portable one for our living room yet at least.
My health is much better now I'm in Santa Barbara on every level. The weather here is just lately so much like Hawaii especially on Kauai and Maui where I have spent a lot of time over the years that it is very very healing for my wife and I to be here. Our muscles and joints hurt about 1/2 as much (which is a lot) for someone over 60 or 65 (my wife is 67 and I'm presently 74. So, not being in pain really helps in getting a good nights sleep and also helps in feeling good enough to take a good walk on the beach or up a hill which is something we did the past two days straight at a local beach here. So, Life is good. We went over to Montecito to meet a friend of ours who helped take care of my wife's father and had brunch with him which was great for everyone at the brunch. We were able to sit outside in the perfect weather under a large umbrella which was great too. Very good day so far.
