We were here about 2 weeks ago now and we had a really great time in the warmer weather and walking on a private beach for our area in Santa Barbara. So, we came down again today because we were able to make time to do this again.
It was a nice drive because where we live near San Francisco Area has been having the "June Glooms" even here in October? This is very strange weather from where I usually live near the bay Area on the coast. Normally by August or September or October it is the best weather of the year so usually spring and fall is almost always the best weather.
But, not necessarily this year because we are still getting the June Glooms here in October up near San Francisco on the coast.
So, I checked the weather down here in Santa Barbara and the weather looked about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than where I live most days. Also, where I live it is going down to around 54 degrees at night too.
Heading south once we got inland far enough the fog dissipated and the sun came out and it was beautiful most of the way down. And temperatures hit up to 100 degrees from about San Ardo through Paso Robles to Astascadero which cooled down a lot by the time we got to San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria on 101.
But, the warmth of even 100 degrees felt good enough for me to put my arm out the window and watch the pain in my joints from the colder coastal weather from the June Glooms on the northern Coast melt away. I think we also saw the rocket trail of a launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base too. So this was interesting. So, once we went inland enough to get away from the coastal fog it was sunny most of the way south to Santa Barbara.
