The Last Kingdom on Netflix

Whether Uhtred existed or not I'm not sure but King Alfred in 871 actually did. He began actually turning Wessex (which is southern England) and Mercia (which includes London (or Lunden then) into Modern Day England. So, this is likely where through King Alfred that England first began to be England even though I think possibly King Arthur also tried in the 500s or 600s too.

A friend of mine and his girlfriend are traveling with us to Kauai and Maui and he got interested in "The Last Kingdom" on this trip so I began to watch the first 3 seasons that I saw that were available on Netflix when I first watched it. IT reminds me in some ways of Game of Thrones and yet it is somewhat historical except I believe Uhtred might or might not be fictional.

Also, by the way there are now 5 seasons of "The Last Kingdom" now available on Netflix.

I asked this question online and this is what I got:

Was Uhtred the Godless a real person in the 800s?

The Uhtred of Bebbanburg audiences know so well from The Last Kingdom, is not a real historical figure. He is one of the few characters in the show to be fictional, created by The Saxon Stories author Bernard Cornwell.Mar 10, 2022

Is Uhtred of Bebbanburg Based On A Real-Life Person?
