Tonight you could even see San Miguel Island which is about 60 miles to the northwest of Santa Barbara from the seashore

There was another amazing sunset on the ocean here in Santa Barbara. We have been getting them almost every sunset lately because it has been relatively clear with no clouds much at all this time of year. What I find interesting is that it gets warmer during the day and also colder during the night than where I live usually near San Francisco on the ocean there. Also, our house nearer San Francisco has thermopane windows so is much easier to heat whereas the ranch style house on a hill doesn't and since we changed the roofing to prepare for the brackets for Solar panels it seems harder to heat without thermopane windows. But, because it was built in the 1950s thermopane windows were not required then when you built a house in Santa Barbara County, California.

Basically, thermopane windows keep your home cooler in the summers and warmer in the winter because the house or business is much easier to keep warm or cool depending upon the season. But, also, putting 8 inch fiberglass insulation in your attic helps a lot too as well as carpets on the floor and maybe insulation under the flooring if your home is pier block construction for example.

But, Santa Cruz Island was the clearest I have seen it as well as all the Channel Islands off of Santa Barbara since we first arrived here from the San Francisco area around the 17th of November.

Beautiful amazing sunset with a crescent moon too!
